One Thing

May 23, 1999

When the skies are gray and dark
And the world seems rather stark
When the winds are fast and cold
And I've got nothing on which to hold
There's only one thing I need to do
And that thing is to think of you

When hunger pangs fill my gut
And my life is in a rut
When things are too much to bear
And there's no one there to care
There's only one thing I need to do
And that thing is to think of you

When late at night I'm all alone
And I'm feeling cold as stone
When all I hear is my own breath
And start to think of my own death
There's only one thing I need to do
And that thing is to think of you

When I'm not sure which way to go
And I start to feeling quite so low
When up seems far and down seems close
And I start to feeling so morose
There's only one thing I need to do
And that thing is to think of you

So when I get lonesome and things get quiet
And the silence comes, I don't decry it
'Cause when it comes, I do get by
And I know I've got no cause to cry
Yeah, there's only one thing I need to do
And that thing is to think of you
